Senior Cloud Engineer
Raw Power Labs is a sister company to Raw Power Games. Our mission is to bring the power of AI into the hands of creators and organizations, enabling them to craft unique and impactful user and customer experiences across industries.
We aim to transform cutting-edge AI research into practical solutions that help create meaningful, immersive, and scalable experiences. We believe this can be achieved by offering the best possible work culture to our employees where we can dream big and run experiments. We recognize that experimentation and embracing new and different approaches require taking risks and sometimes result in failures, but that is also how we learn and grow!
Currently, we are an innovation team of 22 and growing. We value trust, transparency and empathy and strive to be the best workplace in the industry. Besides an adventure, here is what we’re offering:
Competitive salaries.
Supplemental pension contributions.
30 days of annual vacation.
Flexible work hours, remote when you need to.
Low hierarchy, your respectful feedback is welcome.
Great focus on work/life balance.
Bleeding edge tech stack.
Skilled co-workers who are driven by a passion for creating beautiful games and cool tech.
So if you are kind-hearted, curious in nature and passionate about AI read on, and consider joining our journey to build an amazing company.
The Role
We are building the next generation of cloud-native infrastructure for the games industry. You will serve as the lead architect for a suite of platform services that power dynamic content delivery, real-time game logic, and secure asset telemetry. In this role, you will design and implement complex, high-performance systems that bridge the gap between game engines and the cloud. You will be responsible for architecting the infrastructure that enables semantic asset retrieval, complex world logic querying, and real-time usage tracking. You will own the backend architecture that serves thousands of concurrent players, ensuring high availability and low latency for critical game services.
Key Responsibilities
Architect High-Performance Data Systems: Design and implement the core backend services that power our semantic search and telemetry products.
Advanced Database Implementation: Architect and manage specialized data stores, including Vector Databases for semantic retrieval.
Real-Time API Design: Build low-latency, high-throughput APIs (gRPC/REST) that game clients rely on for live gameplay features.
Telemetry & Audit Infrastructure: Design immutable logging and high-volume event ingestion pipelines to track asset usage and rights management securely.
Cloud Architecture: Own the infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/AWS) for your services, ensuring they scale automatically with player demand.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Game Engine Engineers to ensure backend data structures are optimized for client-side consumption.
What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
5+ years of cloud engineering experience, with AWS as your primary platform
Hands-on AWS experience across Lambda, SQS, ECS, S3, and API Gateway, and genuine understanding of the trade-offs between them
Infrastructure as Code ownership i.e. you've written and maintained Terraform in production
Strong Python for backend services and pipeline logic
Experience designing and operating event-driven, asynchronous distributed systems
A performance and cost mindset i.e. you track egress costs, latency budgets, and resource utilisation as a matter of course
Strong Bonus
Experience with vector databases in a production context (Qdrant, Milvus, pgvector, or similar)
ML-adjacent infrastructure background: data pipelines, model serving, embedding systems
Experience with sandboxed or multi-tenant execution environments
Gaming or live-service backend experience
Familiarity with SOC2 or similar compliance frameworks
C#/.NET experience
Why Join?
Build the Foundation: You will build the core architecture for three innovative products from the ground up.
Complex Problems: You will solve unique challenges at the intersection of AI, Big Data, and Real-Time Gaming.
Small, High-Impact Team: You will be a key leader in a specialized "Innovation Pod," working directly with the Product Lead and Engine experts.
Diversity and Culture
We strongly believe in a discrimination-free workplace. Harassment, bullying, and exclusionary practices are not tolerated. We embrace the diversity of experience, perspectives, and background - they help us create a people-positive work environment and engaging games.

About Raw Power Games
At Raw Power Games, we encourage experimentation and recognize the value of learning and growth. We are located in Copenhagen, but with flexible work hours and remote options, we prioritize task completion over specific time or location.
We take a forward-thinking approach, planning a portfolio of three complementary games that maximize their unique features.
Our first game is an open world sandbox set in a familiar historical setting, with a twist. It will initially launch on PC, followed by console versions.
